MARK SCHOENBERG

Mark and Shira

Born on September 3, 1943 in New York City, NY, I was married to Felice Hamada until her untimely death in 1989. Our only child, my daughter Shira, was graduated from Columbia University in May of 2004, worked for the Jewish Advocate newspaper in Boston for a year, earned a Masters at Columbia University School of Journalism, after which she worked as a reporter for the Concord Monitor daily in Concord, NH. November, 2008, she married Gregory Bunimovich at a beautiful wedding in Boston. After covering the New Hampshire primary in 2012 for the Boston Globe, she then accepted a position as a political correspondent for the Springfield Republican, western Massachusetts largest daily, and its website, Masslive.com.

Before I founded my computer consulting and software development company, Emmes Technologies, I was a scientist studying how muscles work for over 30 years at the National Institutes of Health.

I retired from the NIH in December 2000 and lived for two months in Eretz Israel. This started a whole string of interesting and rewarding experiences which resulted in my eventually making aliyah.
